Artist's Statement for Sights of Inspiration Show
I have strong reverence for nature, God’s creations: flowers, mountains, the desert, trees, streams, pools, ocean, seashore, sky and fields – all of it! Each has its own special beauty!
I try to capture the special spirit of the scene my soul responded to at first glimpse in all my oil paintings and hope that the viewer will share my sense of wonder and discovery.
I am especially drawn to paint water, as it is the giver of life, as well as scenes, which are peaceful. I see no need to paint those aspects of life, which are depressing and ugly. I hope that my art, in some small way, will add to the viewer’s serenity and appreciation of nature.
