Category: WATERCOLOR

Born in Southern California, Gary Geraths finished his education at Long Beach State College (B.F.A.) and Claremont Graduate School with a Masters degree in Drawing and Painting.

While always loving making art Gary also became involved in exploring the mountain and desert wilderness of the West, Canada and Alaska. Mountaineering and rock climbing became a passion and his pencils and sketchpad were always in his backpack. Soon his work revolved around drawing and painting the effect of the evolving forces of nature on the landscape.

Starting in the late 1980’s Gary taught at various colleges in Southern California while also being involved in many gallery and museums shows locally and internationally. While traveling through Europe, he rekindled a love and excitement of figure drawing. So, began the chase of drawing and painting the classic figure in oil, pastel, pencil and charcoal.
