Cynthia was born in 1961 and raised in Mt Baldy California. A magical childhood is what she credits for her strong impulse to create. A Formal art education was never forced nonetheless, she is self taught and grew up in an artistic family atmosphere.
Form and lines of the human body require patience to capture detail. Cynthia's time is dedicated to figurative work. Contemporary realism. Anatomy is important, though not as important as emotion and mood. On occasion she will sculpt "from life" however she prefers to use memory or photographs in order to keep her studio a private place. Figures that are statuesque, solid, somewhat amazon, though very peaceful... those are the ones that have always drawn her in, those are the sculptures she desires to build.
