Born and raised between El Paso, Texas and East Los Angeles, my artistic journey was heavily influenced by spiritual and Chicano art. I was drawn to bright colors, which became a hallmark of my artistic style. My very first exposure to art was during trips to Juarez, Mexico, where my grandmother would light candles in local churches while I sat in the back pew. The colorful clothing, stained glass windows, and statues of saints captivated me and fueled my desire to become an artist.

Now, as I paint, I am a storyteller using my paintbrush as my pen. My works of art are spiritual and deeply rooted in human connection. Each piece tells its own story, evoking a unique emotion in the viewer. As a self-taught artist, I embrace my imperfections and aim to create raw, impressionable folk art that speaks to the heart of the viewer. Occasionally, a crow will make its way into my paintings, adding another layer of symbolism and meaning.

My primary medium is acrylic on canvas, but I also find great joy in experimenting with mixed media on various surfaces. One of my most memorable exhibitions was at the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts, where my 8-foot-tall tin roof panels were showcased as part of the "Garden Exhibit." My work has also been featured in prominent exhibits such as the "Folk Carnival" at the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, the "Dia de los Muertos" exhibit at the Museum of History and Art Ontario, and the "Frida Kahlo" exhibit in San Francisco.
